She's The Vice Presidential Nominee for John McCain

LOL... Hummm don't get me started on her, because there is so much to say and so little time to type it....lol I wouldn't say that I "hate" her but I do strongly disagree with her policies. For starters she is a liar... Plain and simple. She loves to talk about how she told Congress "..Thanks, but no thanks on that bridge to nowhere" When in fact she STRONGLY supported the bridge way before she did not. Next she talks about how she cut Alaska's spending. She likes to talk about how she sold the Gov. Jet on e-bay, Which in fact is not true. She posted it on e-bay twice and when it did not sell she went to some place for them to sell if for her, and she took an almost 2,000,000 dollar LOSS on the jet. Not only that but she then charged the people of Alaska for trips she took on public planes, which people say cost the people of Alaska more than it would of cost to KEEP the jet. Sen. McCain said in his speech at the RNC(And various other speeches) That he will call out wasteful earmark spending... Well Gov. Palin was one of the ones who wanted I believe 4 million in earmarks for the State of Alaska so they could do some research on some type of animal(I forget what animal I think it was a seal or otter). The fact of the matter is this, Gov. Sarah Palin is not ready to be Veep. Before she was even asked she said "What does veep do?".......... Come on if you don't know what the veep does then don't take the offer. But no I do like this lady...

The same generation you can thank, along with the 2 generations before mine, that you are able to express your opinion freely.

LOL! I thought this member was responding to the topic, not to me personally. But thank you for your courtesy and respect Ron, one of the reasons I feel good about my son's community of online friends! But just to respond, it was kind of the same vein about paradigms being subjective...with the twist that I'm an old fart and remember too well the reception our troops received when they returned from Vietnam...a "police action" that JFK and LBJ initially embroiled us in...which is just an aside...but mainly I don't want our current troops to suffer the same treatment b/c they are serving in an unpopular/partisan combat and I don't want younger generations to forget that previous have died over the past 200+ years protecting their right to disagree.

Give this young man a gold star for that one! And I mean that as a sincere kudos! But there's a point beneath that one too...we became involved in that conflict by the executive decision of a democrat president and our current conflict was the executive decision of a republican president. So the deeper point to think about is that it's important regardless of what party you check when you register to vote that you don't allow yourself to simply "vote the party ticket" b/c that can lead to laziness and complacency...scrutinize the candidates and the issues and stay informed.

That's true. Both parties contributed to the war, and both fueled it in some way, so when voting, i would remember what YOU want for america, and vote accordingly.

Well I disagree, I have had to privileged and honor to speak with many troops. Many of which are do feel that because the was is an unpopular one that people dislike them. One female navy member said "We're just doing what we are told to do" I assured her and many others, that Because we do not support the war does not mean that we do not support the troops. And there were many people who were AGAINST the war in Iraq, One of which is Barack Obama. But You do make a good point about not voting based on the party. Thats why I watched all the Democratic and Republican Debates because I wanted to make an informed decision on who Would get MY vote.

lol ron why do you even tune in to the republican, you're not voting for McCain lol. You've been OBAMA '08 Since day 1 lol!! But there's nothing wrong with that, i mean, in this election, it's obvious that he's the best candidate to get america out of this slump that it's in right now. McCain is just another Bush and 4 more years of bush will turn America into something that we aren't going to like....
