GAAAAAHHHH!!!! That's the sound of a parent frustrated/concerned/worried/worn-out. And I know that's also the same sound of a young person in response to this parent who doesn't get it/never been there/is clueless. So, just a little inside tip for this group of young people who appear intelligent, respectful and capable of making their own positive choices: when your folks act like this...PLEASE! take a minute to consider where they might be coming from! (Like we may not be as stupid as we seem and we love you and worry and our worst fear is the worst happening to you) AND...when you're stating your own case, which most of us sane/rational parents are willing to listen to...remember to pay respect/acknowledge your folks opinions/perceptions/etc...even if it doesn't always get you the solution you want, I guarantee that 9/10 it will get you increased trust and respect from your folks...which is really the bottom line...right?
