    I'm taking this american lit. class because that's what sophmores are required to take Very Happy and i think that early american writers are very very talented. Edgar Allen Poe is probably the best in my opinion, but i really liked that

    "The Devil and Tom Walker" story.

    Oh, Poe is one of Kirby and I's faves...have you read "The Gold Bug" yet? My dad passed along a set of Poe's complete works to us...used to stay up under the covers w/a flashlight scaring the heck outta myself reading Poe!

    He's a great author isn't he? Well i had to read a little bit of the gold bug last year, but i can't really remember what it was about.

    My favorites are probably

    "The Fall of the House of Usher" and "The Pit and the Pendelum". and "The Raven" of course Very Happy
